Leonard Lyle Henry, age 73, passed away December 22, 2016 at Olathe Medical Center.

Leonard was born on April 22, 1943 in Miami County, Kansas to Joseph Michael Henry and Mary Ann Miller Henry. Leonard graduated from Louisburg High School in 1961. He worked for Western Weighing and Inspection Bureau and later went to work at Johnson County Motor Vehicle from which he retired in 2008.

Leonard’s passion was sports, especially following the Chiefs, Royals and Jayhawks. He could talk sports all day long and could give statistics on anything you asked him. His family and friends meant the world to him. He had a great sense of humor, was kind and generous and thoughtful. He will be sadly missed by all.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Raymond Henry (Charlene) of Bettendorf, IA; sister, Lorraine McCann (John) of Bucyrus, KS; nieces, Pam Swarm (Jeff) of Bettendorf, IA, Kim Carter (Shawn) of Gardner, KS, Keri Johnson (Brad) of Olathe, KS; great nephews Corbin, Drake and Grant; and great nieces Kelsie, Kameron, and Addie.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to the Olathe Hospice House.
