Pat J. Barry, age 96, of Bucyrus, KS passed away peacefully on March 9, 2017 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Spring Hill, KS.

He was born on March 31, 1920 at the family farm in Kansas City, KS, the son of John and Mary (Mullen) Barry.

Mr. Barry was a farmer all his life and in his later years raised sheep. He had a 100 head of sheep and took care of them until he was 90 years old. He loved Easter because he would put all the baby lambs in the pasture by Metcalf so all the little kids could see the baby lambs on their way home from church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Anna Mae (Schwartz) Barry; three sisters, Frances Kuhnen, Ann Haffey and Catherine VanNieuwenhuyse and two brothers, John and Maurice Barry.

He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Hickman of Bucyrus, KS; one sister, Angela Verhaeghe, Lenexa, Ks; two grandchildren, Daniel (Jana) Hickman, Galena, KS and Kristin Marie Hickman, Overland Park, KS and one great grandchild, Patrick Eugene Hickman.

The family suggests contributions to the Queen of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
