Eva Loraine Chenoweth, 91, Louisburg, KS, died March 19, 2014 at Louisburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Loraine was born on Nov. 23, 1922 in Trinidad, CO to Charles A. and Martha M. Bogner Simpson. She graduated from Trinidad High School and then attended Business School. On November 6, 1942, she was united in marriage to Thomas O. Chenoweth in Midland, TX where he was stationed. After the war, they settled in Chicago, where she was employed at Continental Can Co. They lived in several locations including K.C., MO and Wichita, KS due to her husband’s work. After enjoying retirement in Tucson for 19 years, they returned to this area and lived with their daughter, Rebecca Golba, and her husband, Chuck, in Louisburg.

Loraine was an avid volunteer who was involved with promoting literacy which included establishing a library in her children’s school, and working with the Reading Is Fundamental Program. She enjoyed hiking, swimming, reading and fixing fabulous dinners at get-togethers with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Chenoweth, and her brother, Allen Simpson.

Survivors include her children: Charles T. Chenoweth of Overland Park; Rebecca A. Golba (Charles) of Louisburg; Thomas O. Chenoweth, Jr. (Kelly) of Maricopa, AZ; Mary Sue Atchison (Willie) of Osage City, KS. She leaves eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Loraine will be missed by her family and friends who were blessed to have had her in their lives.
