Max Wayne Wood, age 25, of La Cygne, Kansas was suddenly taken away from his family on April 9, 2014.

Max was born in Olathe, Kansas on June 6, 1988 to Beth Deason and Joe Wood. He leaves behind the two loves of his life, Lauren Roberts and his three year old daughter Gracie Wood.

Max was a very loving and soft spoken young man, yet carried with him a contagious smile, wonderful sense of humor and a willingness to always offer a helping hand. Needless to say he was loved by all.

Max was preceded in death by his grandparents Max and Helen Wood of Louisburg, KS, Fred Deason of Vinita, OK and great grandparents Roy and Ruby Stratton of Louisburg, KS and Ethel Hawley of Ketchum, OK.

Survivors include the two loves of his life, Lauren Roberts and his three year old daughter Gracie Wood; parents, Beth and Rick Deason of La Cygne, KS, Joe and Cindy Wood of Belton, MO; brothers, Jake Wood of Emporia, KS, Nick Wood of La Cygne, KS, Dustin Deason of Leavenworth, KS, Bryce Deason of La Cygne, KS and Sean Deason of Parsons, KS; sisters, Shelby Travison of Louisburg, KS, Angie and Jason Michalek of Raymore, MO, and Maggie and Ryan Filla of Pflugerville, TX; grandparents Herb and Joyce Martin of Louisburg, Marie Routh of Belton, MO and Janice Deason of Vinita,OK.

From a young age Max always had a wonder of how things worked and spent hours disassembling and reassembling just about anything he could get his hands on. His favorite thing seemed to be cars and more specifically engines. Max, without any formal training, could do wonders with anything mechanical and was normally known as the go to guy in the family for such needs.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Max Wood Memorial Fund.
