Verle Odell Bostick, 76, of Louisburg, KS, passed away June 23, 2014, at his home with his family by his side.

Verle was the first of two children born to Frank and Eva Bostick on December 28, 1937, in Arma, Kansas. Verle was raised in Louisburg, Kansas and graduated from Louisburg High School in 1955. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He later began working for Deluxe Check Printers as a sales manager and retired after 34 years. On July 23, 1963, he married Sylvia Johnson in Miami, Oklahoma. Verle and Sylvia moved to Lenexa, Kansas and raised three children. In 1987, they moved back to Louisburg, Kansas, and celebrated their 50 year anniversary last July.

Upon retirement, they enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s events, traveling with the Lions Club, and spending time with their family. He was a member of the Louisburg Lions Club for 27 years, and served as District Governor for the Kansas Lions in 1999. He was a member of the Masons for over 50 years and a member of the Louisburg United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia, children Michele and David Hufferd of Louisburg, Michael and Shannon Bostick of Osawatomie, and Kevin and Jackie Bostick of Overland Park. Verle has eight grandchildren, Lacey, Logan, Matthew, Shane, Craig, Jimmy, Jennifer and Amber, eight great grandchildren, Parker, Jackson, Westyn, Landyn, Eloise, Coby, Cybil and Damien.

Verle was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Louisburg United Methodist Church or the Louisburg Lions Club.
