David Michael Hernandez, 43, of Spring Hill, KS, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014.

David was the fourth of six children born to Joseph Louis and Susan Josephine Hernandez on October 23, 1970. He was united in marriage to Victoria Sue Hess on July 30, 1994. He graduated from UMKC in 1995 with a degree in Psychology. Upon Graduation Dave spent his entire career with the Sprint Corporation.

Dave will be forever remembered by family and friends for his insatiable appetite for life. He was famous for his spectacular Fourth of July and Halloween parties. His love of travel and card playing were something that brought him so much joy and he could make a pumpkin cheesecake that would change your life. But most of all Dave loved his family and took so much pleasure in seeing his sons grow and develop the same passion for the Boy Scouts that he held so dear. Dave’s documentation of his battle with cancer on his Caringbridge account made a significant impact on the lives of all who read it. He will remain a symbol of strength and courage to all that love and know him. As Dave would say “All is right”.

He is survived by his wife Victoria, children, Joshua and Kyle Hernandez of Spring Hill, KS. He is also survived by his parents, Joseph Louis and Susan Josephine, brothers, Joe, Vincent, Mark, Tim, and Chris Hernandez. His sister-in-laws, Claudia, Amy, and Dianne, brother-in-law, Garrett, and eleven nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Cindy, and son Michael.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Troop 88 for a Mic-O-Say Memorial Brick that will be placed at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in honor of Dave. 328 Ghost Creek Lane Gardner KS 66030.
