He was born on March 11, 1951, the first born son of Norbert “Bob” and the late Marjorie (Woltkamp) Koechner.

Steve joins his mother who passed in April 2000.

Survivors include his father, Bob Koechner, of the home and Bob’s friend Lorna Meyers; five brothers, Mike, Denver, CO; Gene (Linda), Paola, KS; Ken (Donna) of Fontana, KS; Scott (Beth), Louisburg, KS and Alan (Jenny), Cedar Rapids, IA; one sister, Trish, Stilwell, KS.

Others left to celebrate Steve’s wonderful life are his favorite nieces and nephews as well as his many great nieces and nephews.
His ‘other” family from Villa St. Francis will deeply miss his joyful and always positive attitude. Cousins, longtime family friends, aunts and uncles round out Steve’s extensive list of those who will miss his infectious smile.

A golden heart has stopped beating and heaven has gained an amazing angel.
