Edna Jean Kircher, age 76, of Louisburg, KS passed away at Louisburg Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center on January 4, 2016. She was born on October 20, 1939 at Louisburg, KS, the daughter of Frank E. and Elsie Ruth (Huffman) Maynard.

Edna worked at numerous places, ending at Rand Oil (Apco) before becoming ill. She was a member of the Louisburg American Legion Auxiliary since 1960. She was a great mom and took many kids to sporting events and Worlds of Fun. Edna Jean was most proud of not only her three children but her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved playing bingo and watching dirt car racing across the Midwest. She was an avid Jayhawk men’s basketball and Kansas City Royals fan. She touched many lives and always enjoyed her customers that came into Apco and the special ones that came through every day. Edna Jean’s saying was – “If you’re in that big of a hurry, you should of started out sooner.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Paul, Winfred, John Edward, Charley and Junior Maynard and two sisters, Stella Barnes and Irene Spears.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Kircher, Drexel, MO; & Dennis (Dina) Kircher, Louisburg, KS; one daughter, Lisa (Jimmy) Mincks all of Louisburg, KS; one sister, Alberta Whitaker, Louisburg, KS; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

The family suggests contributions to the Louisburg American Legion Auxiliary or Lawrence E. Bauer Scholarship Fund.
