Lela Ann Salyer McClanahan, 72, of Kansas City, MO passed away on May 10, 2016 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO after her struggles with many strokes, Diabetes, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Lela was born March 26, 1944 in an old farm house on Kocher Farm, 9 miles east of Sedan, KS to Lelean and Billie (Haines) Salyer.

She liked many things but mostly playing Bingo with a small group of friends and watching westerns like her father did. She worked many jobs throughout her life and loved driving school busses for Spring Hill School district where she raised her four children before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her dad, two brothers, Dale Dean and Bennie Carl Salyer, her niece, Sheryl Mae Knop and nephew, Jason Wayne Witt.

Survivors include her four children, John Cecil McClanahan, Roxana Lynn McClanahan, Bridgett Ann Wilson and Robert Duaine McClanahan; her 97 year old mother, Billie (Haines) Salyer; 12 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 5 siblings, Rick, Marie, Sharon, Peggy and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to extend our gratitude to all the doctors and nursing staff at Research Medical Center for all they did.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Bucyrus Cemetery.
