Naomi Ruth Seamon, age 77, of Louisburg, KS, passed away on May 27, 2016 at her home. She was born on November 10, 1938 at Picher, OK, the daughter of Bryan Edward and Lorene Flora (Alexander) Douthitt. She was united in marriage to Paul Seamon in Talequah, OK at the home of a dear friend.

Naomi graduated from Shawnee Mission School District and attended college at Kansas City Art Institute and holds an Interior Design degree. She also received her Pilots license in her earlier years. She worked as a Graphic Artist at a newspaper in downtown Kansas City, MO. She was a bartender for many local Kansas City clubs including the Playboy Club. Naomi was a telephone operator at the Shangri-La Resort in Afton, OK and a cashier at Walmart and The Smoke Shop in Ft. Scott, KS. She loved trees, plants, birds and loved to watch and listen to it rain from her swing on her front porch which is exactly what she did on her last evening with us, her neighbor and friend Judy by her side. She made many friends at Wea Creek and looked forward to our monthly potluck luncheons to be with her new friends and share her life events. Naomi was a kind and loving person and will be deeply missed by those that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Bryan Sherfey, granddaughter, Dana Sherfey, infant son, Bernard Dean Sherfey, one brother, Jimmy Douthitt and many other beloved relatives and dear friends.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Becki Sherfey, Louisburg, KS; one son, Mark Sherfey, Larned, KS; three sisters, Darlene Kliewer. Pittsburg, KS; Joyce Smock, Yukon, OK and Kathy Downing, Fort Scott, KS; two brothers, Richard Douthitt, Bixby, OK and Corky Douthitt who lives abroad; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family suggests contributions to the Naomi Seamon Memorial payable to Becki Sherfey.
