Orpha Jane Prettyman, 75, passed on to heaven on June 19, 2016.

Orpha was born on February 26, 1941 to E.J. (Pete) and Myrtle Elnora Tabb Prettyman at home on a farm south of West Line, Missouri. A lifelong resident of the West Line area, she graduated from Freeman High School in 1959. She worked for the Arfsten Dime Store in Kansas City, MO and then for King Radio until her retirement. Orpha was a faithful lifelong member of the West Line Christian Church and served the church in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher.

Orpha is fondly remembered as a gentle, kind soul and friend to many. She dearly loved music, crafts, animals, children, and her family and community of friends. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister, Patty.

Surviving family include sister, Betty and brother-in-law, George Reed, Louisburg, KS; nephew David Wayne Reed, Kansas City, MO; nephew, Steve A. Reed, Ottawa, KS; and niece, Marilyn (Bill) Hall, Osawatomie, KS; great-nephews, Lenny (Jamie) Pearce Jr. and Colby (Lori) Reed, great-niece, Shirlee Ann Wood, and many great-great nieces.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Grace Hospice, West Line Christian Church, or Glenwild Cemetery.
