Jerry E. Verheaghe, 65, of Bucyrus, KS, formerly of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Nov. 4, 2014.

He was born in Kansas City, MO on March 8, 1949, the son of Sidney and Helena (Andersen) Verheaghe. Jerry was united in marriage to JoAnn Hodges on July 10, 1976 at Prairie Village, KS.

He was a truck driver for Botsford Ready Mix in Lenexa, Ks and the City of Overland Park before retiring. Jerry loved to fish, work on mowers and especially driving around. He helped found the Recovery Plus Group at Sanctuary of Hope.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helena Verheaghe.

Survivors include his father, Sidney Verheaghe, Overland Park, KS; his wife, JoAnn, of the home; one son, Anthony Verheaghe, Denver, CO; one daughter, Natalie (Jason) Rice, Williamsburg, VA; one grandson, Nicholas Rice; one sister, Jeannette Osborn, Bakersfield, CA; and one brother, Gene Verheaghe, Lenexa, KS.

The family suggests contributions to the Sanctuary of Hope, Kansas City, KS.
