Howard Lee Chadwick, 69, of Bucyrus, Ks, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House.

Howard was the oldest of six children born to Howard Albert Chadwick and Lorna June Stutsman on June 16, 1945. Howard was raised in Miami County, Kansas. He graduated from Parker High School 1963. He worked in the construction field after high school, and then worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, as well as Shawnee Mission school district as a maintenance man/grounds keeper. Then, in 1974, he started his career at the KCATA- Metro Bus Company as a master mechanic/machinist where he worked until his retirement in 2007.

He was united in marriage to Paula Mae Fitzjerald on August 15, 1969. They started their family in 1970 with the birth of their first daughter Candy Lynn Chadwick Primley, followed by Anita Marie Chadwick Schlagle 1971, and son Gordon Kelly Chadwick 1974. They moved to Bucyrus from the Kansas City area in 1984 where they made their permanent home.

Upon his retirement, Howard and Paula enjoyed riding motor cycles and attending their grandchildren’s events. Howard enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with friends and family, he continued mechanic work in his garage at home with his son.

He is survived by his wife Paula of the home, children Candy and Tony Primley of Peculiar Mo, Anita and Daniel Schlagle of Peculiar Mo, Kelly and Cherie’ Chadwick of Harrisonville Mo. Howard has nine grandchildren that he was very proud of, Charles, Anthony, Joshua, Joseph, Justin, Skylar, Ashlynn, Leanne, Alexis, and great granddaughter Shaylee. He is also survived by, (Sister) Gayle Jones of Mountain Home Arkansas, (Brother) Leroy Chadwick of Cleveland Mo, (Brother) Robert Steve Chadwick of Osawatomie Ks, (Brother) Dale Chadwick of Adrian Mo, and (Sister) Kathryn Fitzjerald of Adrian Mo., His sisters in law, Ruth Ann Wood of Kansas City Kansas, Brenda Chadwick of Cleveland Mo., Cindy Chadwick of Adrian Mo., Brother in law Gary Fitzjerald of Adrian Mo., and many nieces and nephews.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents Howard A. Chadwick and Lorna J. Chadwick and his mother and father in law Leo A. Fitzjerald and Gloria E. Fitzjerald.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Kansas City Hospice House and/or The American Cancer Society.
